At just 41 square miles Trafford is easy to get around and a short journey transports you from the urban, sporting and waterfront offer in the North of Trafford bordering Manchester to the fashionable suburbs and rural offer in the south bordering Cheshire.

Visitors can sample award winning leisure attractions and international sport, as well as having the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities. Shopping is one of the nations favourite pastimes, and Trafford has it all from historic markets to traditional town centres and the stunning Trafford Centre. Old Trafford has been selected as one of only a handful of venues outside of London to be hosting matches in the Olympic Football competition. Countries from all over the world will take part in a total of nine matches at the stadium, including quarter-final and semi-final games. TeamGB men's team will play their first match at Old Trafford on Thursday 26 July 2012. Other matches take place on, Sunday 29th July, Tuesday 31st July and Wednesday 1st August. Quarter finals on Saturday 4th August. Semi finals on Monday 6th August (women's) and Tuesday 7th August (men's).
