Attractions
Imperial War Museum North on The Quays is one of
Trafford’s flagship attractions, since opening in 2002 it
has won countless awards for both the building and it’s visitor
experience and it’s free. At the southern end of the borough
and offering a complete contrast Dunham Massey is home to a National
Trust property of the same name where deer roam free in a stunningly
beautiful park. Whilst in Dunham you could take time out to soak
up the atmosphere that over 1000 years of history has bestowed on
St Werburgh’s church and in the summer try out the fascinating
Maize Maze at Redhouse Farm.
Trafford is also a major destination for sports
fans. It may be called Manchester United but the Old Trafford home
of this world famous club is, like the other Old Trafford and home
of Lancashire Country Cricket Club, in Trafford. If you prefer to
get active yourself you can try out a whole host of water based
activities at Trafford Water Sports Centre in Sale, or if you like
to keep your feet dry why not walk, cycle or ride a section of the
Trans Pennine Trail.
