Imperial War Museum North Water & Air Shards

Housed in a piece of architecture as thought provoking from the outside as on the inside, Imperial Warm Museum North sits on The Quays overlooking the Manchester Ship Canal. Another must see for footie fans is Manchester United’s Museum and Tour Centre, even if you’re not interested in football a tour of the stadium and behind the scenes is fascinating. If you’re visiting for cricket it’s worth hunting out LCCC’s tiny museum which is open on match days. Galleries are rather thin on the ground with Lauriston Art Gallery Trafford’s principal venue, but the wonderful Lowry is just across the Ship Canal at The Quays and adjoining Manchester is home to a plethora of renowned venues.
